A quick overview of 2004:
January 4, 2004 - New Champion!
Mira finished her AKC and UKC championships within three months. The
UKC CH. was the weekend of the ICDCA national specialty in Oct, 2003. She finished her
AKC championship Jan. 4, 2004 by going BOB over the champion bitch. Mira
is my 15th AKC champion and 7th UKC champion.
March 19, 2004 - New puppies out of Asherah
We are happy to announce Asherah had nine puppies on March 19,
2004 sired by Eli. Asherah is a littermate to Toby and Delilah and the
mother of the girl that we own with Alla Geretz, Mira. There are five boys
- two black and white, one red, one red and white, one golden. There are
four girls - one creme, one creme and white, one red and one black.
April, 2004 - 16th AKC Champion
At the Apple Valley shows in Minnesota, Jasper (Cherrysh
Precious Stones) won his last point to become our 16th AKC Champion. He
earned all his points from the Bred By Exhibitor Class.
May 6, 2004 - New puppies out of Sufi!
Sufi had five boy puppies born on May 6, 2004 sired by Jasper.
There are two creme and white, two red and white, one tri-color.
May, 2004 - Petra is a new Champion!
In May 2004, Petra finally won that last major and completed
her AKC Championship at the shows in Madison, WI. She showed like a dream
and was also Best Of Breed both days. The second day she defeated two bitch specials.
July, 2004 - ICDCA National Specialty wins and new titles
July 16, 2004 we went to the ICDCA National Specialty in
Locke, NY. Lorna Hastings flew over from England to show her male Blaze,
Lorianna Sirius Star. It rained most of the time including a downpour in
the middle of the specialty. Glory was Reserve Best Female and Blaze was
Best Male. Joseph won the Champion Class twice to finish his Grand
Champion Title. He is the second Canaan Dog to earn this title.
Glory was Best Female three of the five shows that weekend to finish her UKC
Championship. She was Best Of Breed at the second show and went on to win
Group 2. Glory is our eighth UKC Champion. Blaze went home from the
specialty with us to work on his AKC Championship. My nickname on the way
home was 10-doggy as I now had ten Canaan Dogs in my mini-van.
October, 2004 - CDCA National Specialty wins and new titles
October 21, 2004 at the CDCA National Specialty, we had our
largest entry ever at this year's show with 60 in the regular classes and 29 in
the sweepstakes. Gabe was Best In Sweepstakes and Best Of Winners.
He is such a fun dog to show and Lorna showed him in the Winners Class. I
took him in the Best Of Breed Class. Hosea was Reserve Winners Dog at only
7 months old. This was his third show. His sister Halle, was Best
Opposite Sex to Best In Sweepstakes. Delilah was Best Opposite in the
Veteran Sweepstakes.
Blaze finished his AKC Championship on October 23, 2004 by
going Best Of Winners at the Middleburg Kennel Club Shows under judge Michelle
Billings with Lorna showing him.
On October 24, 2004, Blaze and Gabe both passed the herding
instinct test hosted by the CDCA
