Here's what happened in 2005:

January 16, 2005 - Glory wins in Florida!

At the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show in Tampa, FL, Glory was Best Opposite Sex and Best Bred By Exhibitor.  She showed flawlessly and really made me proud.  She was such a good girl at the breed booth meeting all the people and very good sharing the motel room with her half sister Yomi.  Of course, she did guard her crate but was very good even riding back and forth on the floor of the motel shuttle van between all the people's feet and Yomi.

March 5 and 6, 2005 - Two new champions!

At the shows in St. Louis, Mo,  Glory and Flame both finished their championships.  Glory showed very well and was Winners Bitch for her last major.  She won all her points from the Bred By Exhibitor class.  I had broken my arm the week before but my friend, Marianne Minks, still wanted to go to the shows and she was a big help with walking the dogs.  She showed the two that were more of a handful, Halle and Gabe.  My other friend, Dorey Carlson from Alaska was there as well.  She did a wonderful job of showing Hosea.  On Sunday, Flame was Winners Bitch, Best Of Winners and Best Of Breed to finish her AKC Championship.  Gabe was Winners Dog.

May 27, 2005 - Gabe wins 2005 ICDCA Best Male and Best Of Breed!

Gabe was Best Male and Best Of Breed at the Israel Canaan Dog Club of America National Specialty held in Mount Veron, Il under Carolyn Herbel.  We had a nice entry of about 30 Canaan Dogs.  Gabe was also Best Male at one of the UKC shows that weekend.  He only needs one more win to finish his UKC Championship.  Blaze was Best Male two of the shows, too.  Joseph was Best Of Breed one of the shows.  And one of Delilah's puppies, Flynn finished his UKC Grand Champion Title - UGRCH AKC Ch. Cherrysh Fire And Rain CDCA HC.  He is the third Canaan Dog to earn the Grand Champion title.  The other two are Joseph and his sire, Amitz, was the first.

June 2005!

Jewel won the Bred By Exhibitor Herding Group at six months old at the Lake Minnetonka shows  It was extremely muddy with about 4 inches of standing water in the group ring, but she just splashed around the ring having a great time.  By the time I was done showing her, we were both covered in mud.  Blaze was Best Of Breed at the first North Star Herding Group Club Show on Friday June 3.

July 2005!

Gabe finished his AKC Championship in Oklahoma City when he won the major.  He then went one to win Best Of Breed over two champions.  Jewel was Best Of Breed over one champion the first day of the shows.

Then we went to four UKC the end of July in the Twin Cities.  Blaze won Best Male the first show on Sunday to finish his UKC Championship.  At the second show on Sunday, he won the Champion Class of five.  Tory was Best Female at one of the shows on Sunday.

September 2005 was a good month!

Joseph finished his Rally Novice title before the CDCA National Specialty so he was able to be the first Canaan Dog to compete the Rally Advanced class at the National Specialty and earned his first leg towards the advanced title.  He also won the 7-10 Veteran Dog class at the National Specialty over four other males.   On Monday, following the CDCA National Specialty and the Rochester, Mn shows, Jewel earned the Canaan Dog Club of America Herding Certificate.

October 2005 was good, too!

Jewel finished her AKC Championship on Oct 9, 2005 under judge Henry Gregory.  She earned all of her points from the Bred By Exhibitor Class.  Joseph finished his Rally Advanced title (RA) at the shows in Rapid City, SD.  He won the class the last day by having the faster time with the score being a tie.

November 2005!

Toby started his Rally title by tying for third place his first time out.  He was also tied for fourth on the second day of the shows in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Tory was Best Of Breed over Jewel and Halle one the same day.  She went to the Herding Group ring where she made the cut and then into the Puppy Herding Group ring where she was third.
