Barak was a fun dog and loved to be the center of attention. He finished his AKC Championship with five majors and finished 2002 #2 by two breed points. Barak finished his UKC Championship by going Best Male and Best Of Breed three shows in a row starting with the 2002 ICDCA national specialty. Barak represents seven generations of home bred champions for his breeder going back to the first Israeli Champion Laish B'nei Ha'bitachon. Barak won a Group 2 at Apple Valley, Mn on April 12, 2003. He got his second Group 2 at Marshalltown, Ia on April 27, 2003. He won a Group 1 at Tri-City Kennel Club on Sept. 22, 2003. He was the first owner handled Canaan Dog to win the AKC Herding Group. Barak won the 2003 ICDCA National Specialty just a few days before he died unexpectedly after ingesting some of his bedding. He was one of the top owner handled Canaan Dogs in breed history. He was one of those exceptional dogs that doesn't happen along very often. Fortunately, he sired several dogs that are producing in several countries. At the 2004 CDCA National Specialty, the members voted him at 2003 Dog of The Year. It is a great honor to have him awarded this title and I thank all those people that voted for him. He has five offspring in the United States that have finished their AKC Championships. This earned him the CDCA Register Of Merit Award.
